Dr Urry has impeccable bedside manner and is always professional. I have seen at least 15 urologists in the past 20 years and of that I have seen, Dr Urry has been the most knowledgeable and genuinely interested in my well-being which is rare quality Dr Urry was able to correct a complex issue with minimal evasive surgery. Dr James Urry is the real deal - incredibly competent, extremely passionate, highly dedicated, and a truly amazing leader. Everyone one we interacted with at Waterfall City Netcare sang his praises, clearly a person that leads by example. We were privileged to have Dr Urry as my wife’s lead surgeon in removing her kidney tumour with robotic assistance. Dr Urry was exceptional from our first meeting with him, all the way through to my wife’s post-op aftercare. His leadership and professionalism is evident in the entire team that works with him, from his incredible and highly competent office manager, Natalie, to all the nurses in the ICU and the Debengeni ward. My wife’s operation was a 5 hour procedure and a highly complicated operation, and a week later, I’m excited to share that she is on her road to recovery, thanks to the expertise of Dr Urry and his team, and a special mention to another remarkable, extremely competent, dedicated and passionate doctor, Dr Shauli Minkowitz.

My husband was referred to Dr. Urry for prostate cancer. What great doctor, patient enough to explain the process and he ensured that we understood all treatment plans to make an informed decision. I was referred to Dr Urry nearly a year ago, with a kidney  that was barely functioning. Right from the beginning I was met with friendly and professional staff. Both his receptionist and office manager were amazing with bookings and sending information to me to assist with my medical aid. Dr Urry took the time to show me the CT results and what treatment options were available, with realistic expectations and outcome of surgery. With any surgery there are always potential complications and these were noted and all relevant pre-op and post-op information was provided to me prior to surgery. There was an unexpected complication, and he dealt with it speedily in his usual professional manner. It's nearly a year later and my kidney is still there and due to keyhole surgery there's very little scaring. Whenever someone tells me about their bad experiences with surgeons and hospitals I tell them about my  positive experiences with Dr Urry  and Waterfall Netcare Hospital. The hospital staff, Dr Urry and the amazing  doctor (Dr K Milos) who runs the Nuclear Department, all deserve a 5 star rating and then some.

Dr. Urry is top of his field. Best Urologist in the country. Highly skilled surgically, and has the most amazing bedside manner. You won't find another specialist who is top of their game, and still takes the time to explain everything carefully, in a way that you understand. My Dad, 76 years old, had to have his left kidney removed, due to a malignant tumor. Dr. Urry picked up that the kidney was not in the usual place, which the radiologist never even commented on. As a result, Dr. Urry was well prepared for a difficult procedure, which went off without a hitch. I cannot recommend Dr. Urry highly enough. Besides his surgical skill, he really cares!!! I went and saw Dr Urry 1 month ago for a procedure. He was very professional and his work is certainly unmatched. I highly recommend him. Awesome!!!!
